Put on a jumper because the trailer for Foxcatcher will give you goosebumps. In the thriller, which is based on a horrifying true story, Steve Carell plays John duPont, a millionaire who establishes a wrestling facility on Foxcatcher farm, and he recruits wrestler Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) with the declaration that he can make him the best. The trailer depicts duPont as Mark's coach as he intones that he's both a father and mentor with "great power" over him. Not creeped out yet? Then consider that in real life, duPont murdered Mark's brother, John Schultz, an Olympic champion wrestler, played in the movie by Mark Ruffalo.
With his accent, prosthetics, and chilling lines, Carell is freaking me out, but it also looks like he's turning in a great performance. I'm also a big fan of Tatum and excited that he's doing something so heavy, especially given that this comes from Oscar-nominated director Bennett Miller (Moneyball). Foxcatcher will be released Feb. 20, 2014, and you can check out the trailer after the jump.
