After the craziness that was Cannes, it was great to see some laid-back approaches to red carpet and event beauty this week. Some of our favourite celebrities were out — including Alexa Chung and Kate Moss — all rocking their signature brand of beauty. Amber Heard looked sexy with a high ponytail and red lips in Beijing, while Lily Collins proved wearing fake lashes doesn't haven't to mean drag queen! Speaking of queens, special mention goes to Queen Elizabeth II, who is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee this weekend and looked lovely at the Epsom Derby. It seems blondes don't always have the most fun. Redheads do. So say Christina Hendricks, Miranda Hobbs and True Blood's Deborah Ann Woll who plays baby vamp — bamp — Jessica on the hit show. Yep, Deb is the latest star to come clean about her natural blonde locks. She told MARKTBeauty.com (which, FYI is fast becoming one of my favourite blogs . . . I can't wait for the Lea Michele August cover) that she made the change aged 15, five years older than Christina, and that it's totally for keeps: "being a redhead is part of my identity. I might go blonde for a role, but I’ll always be a redhead." But the biggest reveal is, she dyes her own hair using L'Oreal Excellence Crème Color in Light Reddish Blonde. Sadly this shade isn't stocked here, but try L'Oreal Excellence Crème Color in 834 Golden Copper Blonde ($19.95) instead.

The stars of True Blood gathered at LA's ArcLight Cinemas Tuesday night to celebrate the premiere of their third season. A Proenza Schouler-clad Anna Paquin stuck by fiancé Stephen Moyer on the red carpet, where they were joined by costars like Sam Trammell and Ryan Kwanten—who sweetly brought his mum as his date. Alexander Skarsgard posed for photos solo, but his girlfriend, Kate Bosworth, wasn't far behind in her black cutout dress!
Many of last night's red carpet trekkers took the leggy road. As in, their gorgeous gowns were hemmed with slits. High, low, demure, sexy, front, side — we saw it all. Zoe Saldana opted for drama, while Anna Kendrick's slit was romantic. Take your pick of ankle-skimming, knee-length or thigh high and see who let their legs do the talking last night.
