Jennifer may have made the "Rachel" the must-have cut of the '90s, but her classic long layers of more recent years have also been a highly coveted style. "I was just ready for a change," she told us of her new cut. "I was ready for something new, to get it out of my face, so I could have a bit of an easier go at it." No matter how she styles her hair, we're sure this will become a new It cut for the beauty icon. See more exclusive pictures here!
We got another glimpse of Jennifer Aniston's recent haircut in a fun new photo shared by her stylist, Chris McMillan. In the Instagram snap, taken at Chris's salon, Jennifer is all smiles while showing off her freshly styled bob. We first got news of Jen's drastic cut last week during an interview with POPSUGAR Beauty, and the actress debuted the short style as she headed to an appointment in LA days later. About the chop, Jen told us that she "was just ready for a change," adding, "I was ready for something new, to get it out of my face, so I could have a bit of an easier go at it." In addition to cutting about six inches off her famous locks, Jen also got a new, slightly permanent accessory — she and makeup artist GucciWestman decided to get their ears pierced together just hours before her new chop.
POPSUGAR: What made you and Jennifer decide to go with a new, shorter cut?
Chris McMillan: Jen just wanted a change! We had been toying with the idea for a while and just decided to go for it.
PS: How would you describe the cut?
CM: The cut is a really chopped up A-line bob. We are calling it the unprecious bob. The hair has long pieces in the front and is shorter in the back. It is very piecey with tons of layers, but no hard edges.
PS: First there was the long bob, and now we have been seeing a lot of bobs lately. What do you think is making Hollywood continue to go shorter?
CM: I love short hair! A lot of the women I work with, both on the red carpet and at my salon, have been asking for short cuts lately. I think women want hair that is easy to style but still looks great. Cuts like this bob are perfect for that. Honestly, you don’t even need to blow-dry the hair!
PS: What makes the bob a great cut?
CM: How easy it is! Jen has been applying Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment to wet hair and letting it air dry. The product adds volume, conditions, and gives it a shine — that's all you need!
PS: What do people need to consider if they want go for a chin-length cut?
CM: Just go for it. It will always grow back!
It's pretty much safe to say that Jennifer Aniston has the most requested hair in Hollywood. Even after "The Rachel" fell out of style, Jennifer's hair remained the most watched coif on every red carpet. But surprisingly, Jennifer rarely attempts to wow us with overdone up 'dos or out-there highlights. Instead, she keeps it simple by sticking to sun-kissed waves, ponytails, and braided looks: a casual girl through and through. Now, she has updated her look with a new bob haircut. We're taking a look back at her hair history so that you can steal Jennifer's no-fail hair formula for yourself.

Lopez used Nars Transvaal Eye Paint, which was the perfect match for her pastel gown. Her dark black eyeliner set off the pastel color, making this makeup look easy to transition from day to night. Jennifer's pale neutral lip shade, Biscayne Park Satin Lip Pencil ($39), was the right complement to her coloured shadow, and it's a flattering shade that can blend with many different skin tones.
