Did you know that the human scalp has, on average, 100,000 hairs? So it's no surprise that just like ingrown hairs on the skin, hair follicles on the scalp can become blocked. Regular scalp massage will help unblock and promote new hair growth, but there's also a small portion of your hair that is in a "resting phase" and guess what? It's time to wake it up! For some time now, we've been schooled in using serums and conditioners to treat split ends and dry, unruly strands but now, it's your scalp's time to shine. As a few new scalp treatments begin to hit shelves, we've got the low down on what to buy and why. Are you ready to take the focus off your ends and nourish those roots? Thought so.
When you spend the time and money to get your hair done, the last thing you want is it to fade after a few washes. Instead of going in for a touch-up every few weeks, learn how to keep your hair colour from fading by using three at-home products. On Kirbie: dress from Rent the Runway.
We highly doubt we have to introduce this girl. She's one of Australia's fastest rising stars thanks to her role in Puberty Blues oh, and you might recognise her sister's name — Abbie? We met Isabelle Cornish at the Kérastase Paris Cristalliste haircare launch and can we just say: she is so funny, grounded, polite and ridiculously good-looking IRL. Click through to read our chat about her favourite products, beauty regime and more. It's true love.
We've got one Sugar fresh-off-the-plane from Mexico, another newly entering the rejuvenating world of facials, and one considering a drastic haircut. We couldn't be more excited — it's all about The Chop right now. Our beauty editor smells like an actual lady (she usually opts for a man scent, you see), and our celebrity editor is taking her love for Chloé perfume to pint-sized heaven. Click through.
Kate Moss has got a new gig: she's just been named the new face of Kérastase hair products. The British model already works with Rimmel London on makeup and nail campaigns, and even has a line of fragrances. And now for 2013, she's rounding out her beauty portfolio, care of Kérastase. Kate will represent the brand's Couture Styling Range that launcheslater this year. If this short announcement spot above (which also features Artistic Director Luigi Murenu in action) has anything to do with the upcoming campaign, we're sure to love what the two Ks have created. It's elegant, chic, and timeless . . . just like Kate.
Thakoon's Fall 2013 presentation included makeup and hair that made a statement — and was hard to miss. Makeup artist Diane Kendal took inspiration from the collection, which was inspired by Summer. "We wanted to reflect that in the makeup, so we did a very dark midnight blue shadow, but to get that Summer feel we added glitter on top. It created the perfect juxtaposition between Winter and Summer." As far as the hair goes, think sharp, graphic, and modern: bangs placed on half of the forehead and cut short, creating a youthful, girlish style with an edge.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Jason Wu at Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week, where the women are strong and cool, and the makeup is bold and daring. One thing Jason doesn't lack? Vision. He worked with Lancôme's Diane Kendal on that perfect indigo shade, a mix of liners, and a shadow — which included a key shade from his upcoming collaboration with Lancôme — for the exaggerated winged look. Odile Gilbert for Kérastase created an elegant, tucked-and-folded bun for a tidy, woven coif, which is best described as a bob-meets-chignon.

It's officially the month of love and to celebrate (any excuse, really) we're bringing you the latest and greatest products set to hit shelves this month. Bobbi Brown's Pink & Red Collection couldn't come at a better time — hello Valentine's Day face — and Benefit Cosmetics' The One is like a lip tint, cheek stain, contouring cream and highlighter in, well, one. You know we're big Yves Saint Laurent mascara fans, and this month they're coming at you with waterproof blue and violet. Way too amazing to explain in words, click through and see for yourself.
At Monique Lhuillier, the look was all about being under the sea. Hair and makeup sought to represent the fluidity of water and all things aquatic.
The look: Turquoise and gold eye makeup, cascading waves, and light lavender nails
The inspiration: Mermaids and ocean waves
Who would wear it: The Little Mermaid — if she climbed onshore and moved to the big city
